Original Story (06/11/25): It happens all too often. You’re up a couple goals in an online game of FIFA (now EA Sports FC) when all of a sudden, the other player leaves the match. Nike has cooked up a “Quit the Rage” edition of the Total 90 III inspired by this exact scenario.
Conceived by Nike’s technology-focused .SWOOSH division, the Total 90 III “Quit the Rage” features a “90” logo reimagined with a cracked look, inspired by gamers that get so upset about losing that they throw their controllers at the screen. This same cracked motif covers the insoles and wrapping paper. The shoe comes in a controller-guts-inspired color scheme of black and metallic green that also nods to the Xbox color palette. Tying the theme together is the message on the insoles, which reads “Your opponent has forfeited the match,” the same type of message that pops up in-game after a rage quit.
The Total 90 III “Quit the Rage” is the latest video game-inspired sneaker from .SWOOSH, who previously cooked up versions of the Air Max 1 inspired by Tomb Raider, Donkey Kong Country, and GoldenEye 007. More recently, they dropped the online meme-inspired Air Force 1 “Smoke & Mirrors” pack.
