Drew White's first solo drop didn't need an intro.

Before the design of the shoe was even revealed to the public, the a-feeling x Saucony ProGrid Paramount was made available for online purchase. That’s the kind of entry Drew White had in mind for the first sneaker release from his brand a-feeling—surprising, deliberate, and a little mysterious—living up to the name “The Science of WOW!.”

White has been building toward this his whole career. Starting out as an intern at Bodega back in 2010, he spent nearly 15 years learning every corner of the industry from marketing to project management, eventually leading all private-label and collab design. His fingerprints are on some of the most talked-about releases of the past decade: the New Balance 997S ‘No Days Off’, the Nike Dunk High ‘Legend’, the Grid Azura 2000 ‘Ever Ready’. Each one a chapter. This Saucony collab is the first page of something entirely his own.

The ProGrid Paramount was a deliberate pick. No Saucony river logo anywhere on the shoe, which meant the design had to carry the whole conversation on its own terms, and the work delivers. Looking at the lateral side, the electric green dotted mesh against the layered olive and dark brown suede panels does a lot in the best way. The asymmetric construction means both sides of the shoe tell a different story: the medial hits with a perforated yellow cage piece and chunky brown overlays, while the lateral keeps it grounded with cleaner lines. Flip it to the heel, and there’s a hypnotic circular graphic stamped into a reflective disc at the back.

The midsole is stacked and sculptural, cream and grey foam sitting above a split outsole that mixes red and purple rubber in a way that reads more artistic than athletic. Up top, the tongue leans dark chocolate suede with a pale yellow-green Saucony tab, and the collar is lined in that same lavender purple that threads through the whole build. Two lace options are included: the default taupe set already laced through and a bright lime-and-red rope lace.

The campaign leans into the narrative too, shot against a vintage black BMW in what feels like somewhere between Brooklyn. The whole thing is styled loose: raw denim cuffed high, cargo pants, a green Berkshires tee. The shoe works in all of it.

White launched a-feeling in 2021 as a design studio built on the idea that his creative process was always more felt than formulaic. This collab is that philosophy made physical.
