Saucony and German retailer Acribik are teaming up to present a vibrant Azura ST sneaker with some serious vaporwave aesthetic. The duo is naming the colorway the “Tech Noir.”
The sneaker itself is the product of the brands’ first time working together. Hitting the ground running, the “Tech Noir” draws inspiration from nightlife. Synth music, laser rays, summer nights and neon lights all lend their creative elements to the design of the shoe. It features a black and white base. Hot pink and blue give way to a gradient pattern on the upper and midsole, switching off on the eyestays. The sole gives way to color blocking of all four colors. Co-branding sits on the tongue as well as the heel in a retro, ’80s-themed script.
Saucony and Acribik called upon Big Mike Colonia, artist and 80s extraordinaire, to be the face of the Azura ST. With the help of photographer Mario Stumpf, the aesthetic of the sneaker comes to life in the lookbook. The brands even got Berlin-based DJs Andhim to offer an exclusive track to aid in the release.
The Saucony x Acribik Azura ST “Tech Noir” saw a release through the German retailer on June 12th and was joined by a “Miami White” F&F colorway limited to 150 pairs. The “Tech Noir” will now see a global release via the Saucony website and select retailers on June 26th. Take a closer look at the sneaker and listen to Andhim’s exclusive track below.
