Action Bronson has revealed his BAKLAVA Planet Frog collection, and if the timing feels deliberate, it is. His eighth studio album hits Friday, May 8th, and the merch machine is already running. The collection spans outerwear, tees, hoodies, socks, a ’47 hat, Oakley sunglasses, and a third colorway of his New Balance 1890 collab—easily his most complete drop under the BAKLAVA banner yet.
The 1890 is the centerpiece. After launching the silhouette earlier this year in two colorways — “Cyborg Tears” and “Hornet Tusk” — Bronson is back on it for round three. The upper opens on a gold woven mesh base, with steel grey suede laid over teardrop-cut toe panels that are signature to the silhouette’s design. Moving toward the heel, the palette shifts to a light red, and the tongue switches materials entirely to perforated brown suede. The midsole combines an olive-green base with flashes of electric blue from the shank plate. The result feels both earthy and technical, aligning with Bronson’s recent mindset. “I’m feeling very in tune with nature and in tune with the Earth,” he told Men’s Journal last month. The shoe looks like that sentiment made physical.
The rest of the collection plays into the same world. The black Planet Frog hoodie and maroon tee both wear the drop like a movie poster, with “An Adventure 66 Million Years in the Making” and a full mock film credit block printed on the back. The yellow shell jacket, color-blocked in olive and gray, is the loudest piece and pairs perfectly with the oversized BAKLAVA x Oakley sunglasses. The ’47 cap rounds it out with Planet Frog embroidered across a black wool crown set on a brown suede brim.
