Meet the New Balance 2811, Action Bronson’s First Signature Silhouette

The rollout is complete with a Balkan crime thriller-inspired short film.

Action Bronson doesn’t do anything the normal way, so of course his first signature sneaker with New Balance isn’t dropping with a simple flyer and a release date. It’s dropping with a movie.

The rapper, chef, and lifelong sneakerhead has spent the last few weeks pulling back the curtain on the New Balance 2811, a silhouette he designed himself in collaboration with New Balance under his BAKLAVA banner. Unlike his earlier collabs that reworked existing New Balance models, the 2811 is a shape that didn’t exist before Bronson sat down and built it. It’s a chunky, trail-adjacent runner on the same ABZORB-cushioned platform that made the 2010 a cult favorite, wrapped in an all-new upper. Thin, layered synthetic overlays crisscross the toe and midfoot, giving the shoe a busy, technical look that still reads unmistakably New Balance.

The launch colorway, “Mikročpske,” is the one Bronson’s been teasing in bits and pieces. A pale yellow-green mesh upper forms the base, laced together by deep teal overlays that wrap from the toe back through the eyestay. Black leather panels reinforce the toe box and heel, while a cobalt blue tongue carries “BAKLAVA new balance 2811” embroidery, with a flash of orange thrown in for good measure. The reflective “N” logos have a frosted, almost icy finish that catches light differently from a standard silver overlay. Down below, the ABZORB midsole is dressed in a light powder-blue with teal and olive accents around the heel, with the outsole finishing things off in black and teal with a matching pop of orange.

The rollout reached its most unhinged chapter yet this week when Bronson dropped a short film centered on the shoe. He’s described it as a late-’90s, Y2K-era Balkan international hardware-and-software romantic crime thriller, and the footage backs that up: Bronson getting chased through New York streets on foot while trying to hack into “the mainframe,” all shot with that over-the-top action movie energy.

Before the wide release, Bronson’s giving the New York/Tri-State crowd first crack at the shoe. The first 300 pairs of the “Mikročpske” are going out at an event in Brooklyn on Saturday, July 18th, with tickets covering a guaranteed pair in your size plus games, food, and music for the night. Access was limited to Tri-State residents and tickets through Specializing In Life sold out almost immediately, so if you’re just hearing about it now, that door’s already closed, but the wider release isn’t far behind.
