adidas Basketball has announced the next chapter in All-NBA guard Trae Young’s footwear legacy, officially unveiling the Trae 2.
Trae Young’s second signature shoe arrives with large Three Stripes across the forefoot, branding inspired by the Adilette slide. Uppers are constructed from an adaptive knit, while BOOST in the heel combines with a Lightstrike midsole to cushion that explosive first step without weighing you down.
“My childhood dream was to have my own signature basketball shoe and it’s surreal to be announcing my second sneaker with adidas,” says Trae Young. “Through our partnership we aim to inspire future hoopers to dream big and to stay true to themselves. I hope that others can relate to my journey as an example of what is possible through the game.”
The Trae 2 comes in a few different launch colorways. The “Trae-tlian” pair comes in black with a blue and green midsole, nodding to classic album ATLiens by OutKast, the iconic hip-hop duo hailing from Atlanta, where Trae Young plays. The “Down in the Deep” colorway comes in ocean blue, inspired by how Trae remains calm under pressure, similar to the calmness found in the depths of the ocean. Other colorways come in “Stratosphere” pink, “Grey Moon,” and “Super Villain” in black/white.
The adidas Trae 2 will be available starting November 1st on the adidas website and at select retailers. Check out the launch colorways below.
