The 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend festivities are only a few days away. The mid-season showcase of the league’s top talent will be hosted by our hometown of Chicago this year. To celebrate the occasion, adidas will be releasing special footwear that includes a collection with local streetwear powerhouse Fat Tiger Workshop, as well as on-court models for NBA players on the adidas Basketball roster such as Damian Lillard, James Harden, Kyle Lowry, and Chicago’s own Derrick Rose.
adidas Originals x Fat Tiger Workshop
After providing some sneak peaks, we now have a complete look at the adidas Originals x Fat Tiger Workshop collection. A collection truly made by Chicago and for Chicago, featuring designs by FTW’s Rello, Vic Lloyd, and Des Money.
Rello’s Paradise Lost Superstar is dedicated to the superstar in all of us, with the phrase “We Are All Superstars” printed on the midsole. Vic Lloyd’s Superstar represents the “Chicago Plays Harder, Chicago Works Harder” mentality and showcases his two first loves: basketball and music. A milk crate graphic on the tongue salutes the crate diggers and DJs in the city. Des comes through with a military-style Rivalry Hi, representing how the city trains you to be ready for any and everything. Des also offers a “Chicago Girls Do It Better” Superstar as thank you to all the Chicago girls doing their thing.
Available February 8th at Fat Tiger Workshop, followed by an adidas.com release on February 15th. Prices range from $100-$110 USD.

adidas Basketball
Unfortunately, Derrick Rose was not selected to participate in this year’s All-Star Game, but adidas will still be celebrating Chicago’s hometown hero with two colorways of the adiZero Rose 1, one embracing Derrick’s “rose that grew from concrete” mentality and the other celebrating his formative Simeon High School days. Other stand-out adidas Basketball releases include a Harden Vol. 4 colorway made in collaboration with sportswear fashion design Daniel Patrick and a Pusha T x Dame 6 colorway. Also included is the Pro Model 2G, returing to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Shell Toe A. Brandon Ingram, Kyle Lowry and Trae Young will wear the Pro Model 2G during the All-Star game, while Patrick Beverley and Zach LaVine will wear the sneaker during Saturday’s events (Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest).
