Jerry Lorenzo and adidas present the final chapter of their Fear of God Athletics partnership. The III Basketball has arrived, the culminating expression of a five-year partnership described as “rooted in trust, innovation, and shared purpose.”
“The III Basketball is the fulfillment of a promise,” says Fear of God founder and designer Jerry Lorenzo. “Over the last five years we’ve pursued honesty in design while creating tools for the athlete that feel essential rather than excessive. This shoe is both a reflection of where we’ve been and a step into what’s next.”
Engineered for on-court performance, the III Basketball features a bottom-loaded shank for balanced torsion control, an evolved Lightstrike platform for responsive cushioning, and a breathable mesh upper that moves without restriction. Weighing in at 360 grams, it stands as the lightest and most resolved expression within the Fear of God Athletics Basketball line to date. This debut grey colorway is officially dubbed “Wonder Alumina” and was spotted on the feet of ex-Lakers guard Gabe Vincent earlier this year.
While the III Basketball is the final adidas Fear of God Athletics silhouette, this “Wonder Alumina” colorway might not be the final release on the calendar. A black colorway of the III Basketball was spotted at the Derrick Rose x Fear of God Athletics II Basketball launch event in Chicago. Time will tell if this iteration or any other colorways will receive a proper retail release.
