adidas NMD_S1 “Cloud White” Release Date

Original Story (06/08/21): The adidas NMD took to world by storm when it arrived in late 2015. While hype for the silhouette has definitely subsided over the years, the original NMD R1 and its variants are still regularly spotted on-feet of consumers everywhere due to its innovative design and comfort brought by its BOOST cushioning. adidas Originals continues to innovate with a new NMD model: the NMD_S1.

The adidas NMD_S1 still features a knit, sock-like upper that helped the original NMD rise to fame, though the sole unit has been completely reworked. Instead of exposed BOOST cushioning, a bulky sole unit with added thickness on the heel-end encapsulates the BOOST foam. The EVA plugs on the original NMD’s sole unit have been replaced with slight indentations that house sleek-shaped protrusions, found on both sides of the rearfoot and the lateral side of the forefoot. The outsole is also vastly different, equipped with trefoil-shaped nubs for traction.

Early pairs of the adidas NMD_S1 have been sent to members of the Three Stripes friends and family, such as Pharrell.
