adidas Originals is reuniting with British fashion label Wales Bonner for a fourth season. Their collaborative Spring/Summer 2022 collection draws influence from the music, photography, and art of Burkina Faso, West Africa from the 1970s and 80s.
Launched by designer Grace Wales Bonner, the label reintroduces its signature blend of European heritage and Afro-Atlantic spirit with a new footwear and apparel collection. Key looks are reimagined through the lens of music and movement, illustrating the feeling of when rhythm touches the soul.
The apparel collection comes in a summer-friendly color palette that includes primary red, sun yellow, and pale pink, incorporating a mix of textures and fabrics on an assortment of ’70s-inspired athletic tees, jacquard knits, and tracksuits.
As for footwear, WB takes on the adidas Country silhouette and also brings back the WB Samba from previous seasons in new white/green and red/white colorways. The Wales Bonner x adidas Country is also offered in two styles, black leather and tan nylon. Both the Country and Samba take on an aesthetic of cultural luxury mixed with Burkina Faso’s native themes that complement and elevate the silhouette.
The adidas Originals x Wales Bonner SS22 collection launches on June 4th on adidas.com, the Confirmed app, walesbonner.net, and at select retailers.
