adidas Y-3 is back just in time for the fall and winter seasons. Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama sets the cinematic campaign in an urban Tokyo setting to showcase the new collection, featuring an apparel line and a four-pack of Y-3 sneakers.
Moriyama’s visual eye perfectly captures Y-3’s essence of avant-garde fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto and adidas’ athletic heritage. The black and white photography takes place in a gothic geometric building in Kawaski-Shi, an industrial city located in Tokyo, Japan. The texturized shoot plays with shadows and embodies both movement and stillness, setting the pieces in a stage of authenticity and transformation. Moriyama plays with light and dark to highlight Y-3 contrasting hues within the fall and winter capsule.
Dressed in soft leather for an elevated look, the sleek Y-3 GENDO TRAIL, Y-3 TOKYO, Y-3 STAN SMITH, and Y-3 GSG9 BOOT headline the collection. The vintage-inspired Y-3 TOKYO comes in multiple colorways, including mustard yellow, maroon, soft white and black, alongside Yohji Yamamoto’s signature on the side. Another standout piece is the Y-3 STAN SMITH, which contorts the classic adidas Three Stripes onto a hook and loop closure against a luxurious leather backdrop.
First unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, the adidas Y-3 FW25 Apparel Collection features a trench coat, a blazer, baggy suit trousers, and an oversized hoodie with the Three Stripes on the center of the hood. Key elements include malleable wired appendages for added mobility. The monochromatic lookbook also features pops of deep red and muted orange.
