Original Story (07/22/25): Advisory Board Crystals has teamed up with Marvel to release a Fantastic Four collection featuring seven different PUMA shoes, though you won’t know what the shoes look like until you have them in hand.
Releasing in celebration of the new MCU film The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the collection features colorways of the PUMA Majesty inspired by Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, The Thing, Silver Surfer, Doctor Doom, and Galactus. This is a “double-blind” release, so customers will receive one of the seven colorways at random, and there won’t be any photos of the shoes prior to launch (unless someone leaks them). However, Abc. has shared some teasers and descriptions of the shoes that have us quite intrigued.
First off, the packaging. Each colorway has its own box inspired by ’90s action figure packaging and vintage cereal boxes, matching the 1960s retro-futuristic vibes of the movie. The boxes are adorned with comic book artwork of their respective character, as well as Hollywood actor-inspired signatures of all seven characters. These boxes come in one of four comic book cover-inspired collectible box sleeves, sealed with hologram stickers, and the whole thing is wrapped in a sealed silver wrapper. Abc. is keeping the sneaker reveal so under wraps, they even sent out empty boxes to sneaker publications and content creators like Seth Eaton.
The blind box release is in the same vein as Kith x Marvel x ASICS GEL-LYTE III “X-Men” drop from 2023, but the “double blind” method of not revealing the shoes puts a unique spin on the concept. What we do know about the footwear is that each shoe is a character-inspired reimagination of the PUMA Majesty, and the Galactus colorway will be the rarest of the seven. Advisory Board Crystals will incorporate their signature opals into the design, each colorway equipped with its own colored gem. Here’s a brief description that Abc. has provided:
“Invisible woman is, well, invisible, Doom is armor plated, The Human Torch ‘flames on’ and The Thing shows he is human underneath it all, Mr. Fantastic is ‘stretching,’ the Silver Surfer is coated in a metallic, and highly reflective electroplated substance, and Galactus is BIG. All powered by their own unique Abc. Opals.”
But wait, there’s more. The Advisory Board Crystals x Fantastic Four collection also includes apparel. One of the pieces revealed is a made-in-Japan “Silver Surfer and Shalla-Bal” zip-up hoodie crafted with metallic yarn to create a star-like effect on the black outer space backdrop. Abc. has also revealed a tracksuit inspired by the Fantastic Four’s uniforms with vintage-inspired ribbed knit and hand-laid Japanese soutache on the sleeves. There are also seven blind blister pack character t-shirts that will function as a “crystal key,” each guaranteeing one winning raffle entry.
The raffle for the Advisory Board Crystals x Fantastic Four x PUMA Sneaker Blister Pack is now open on the Abc. website and closes on July 27th. Release info for the apparel has yet to be announced, so stay tuned to Modern Notoriety as more details are revealed.
Update (07/25/25): Early access for the apparel is now available on the Abc. website with password AbcisFantastic.
