Jordan Brand is continuing its Reimagined series with a “UNC Reimagined” Air Jordan 1 set to release this summer.
Releases from Jordan Brand’s “Reimagined” series offer remixed versions of classic OG Jordan colorways, outfitted with either new materials or unique details. The upcoming “UNC Reimagined” Jordan 1 opts for a vintage-inspired look, taking the same route as the Air Jordan 1 “Lost and Found” from 2022, an aged version of the original 1985 “Chicago” Jordan 1.
The original “UNC” Air Jordan 1 released in 1985 in a white and powder blue color scheme as a tribute to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina. The aged look on the “Reimagined” pair is achieved with cracked leather paneling on the quarters, toe boxes, and ankle collars, as well as with a yellowed midsole and oxidized outsole.
The vintage theme continues on the packaging. It comes in a distressed orange box with a black and red lid, made to look like it was lost in a basement or warehouse and discovered years later with the original lid missing. This packing is similar to the “Lost and Found” Air Jordan 1 but in reverse, with the box dressed in black and red and the lid in orange.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG “UNC Reimagined” is slated to drop May 10th on SNKRS and at select retailers in full family sizing. Grab an early look below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
