Air Jordan 1 Low ’85 Arrives in OG “Royal”

Following the release of the Air Jordan 1 High ’85 “Bred,” Jordan Brand is now bringing back the OG “Royal” colorway in Low ’85 form.

Dropping as part of the ongoing 40th anniversary celebration of the Air Jordan 1, this upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low ’85 comes in the original “Royal” colorway that debuted on the Air Jordan 1 High in 1985. Dressed primarily in black leather, the shoe features MJ’s favorite color, royal blue, on the toe box, heel panels, and Swoosh. Underfoot, a white midsole with a royal blue outsole rounds out the design.

The Air Jordan 1 Low ’85 “Royal” features some of the same updates that Jordan Brand made on the recent “Bred” High ’85 release that made them more true to the OG specs. Modifications include the shape of the heel and toe box, the texture on the midsole, and a smaller but more pronounced Wings logo.

Initially, there was some confusion about whether or not these ’85 Lows would be releasing. The majority of retailers that were expected to carry the shoe had their release cancelled, though some overseas retailers like END. and Starcow Paris were given the go-ahead to drop.

The Air Jordan 1 Low ’85 “Royal” is set to drop globally at select retailers on February 22nd. So far, the only confirmed stockists in the US are the three Whitaker Group retailers—A Ma Maniére, Social Status, and APB—each dropping via EQL raffle. Grab a detailed look below.
