This year’s big holiday Air Jordan 11 release will be the return of the “Space Jam” colorway, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the 1996 film starring Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes.
MJ first wore the pair during the 1994-95 NBA playoffs, though it received the nickname “Space Jam” after he wore the iconic colorway on the big screen in a high-stakes intergalactic matchup between the Tune Squad and the Monstars.
The “Space Jam” 11 would make its retail debut in 2000, followed by two retro releases in 2009 and 2016, the latter coinciding with the film’s 20th anniversary. Each version—the on-screen pair, the on-court pair, and the three retail releases—feature subtle differences, including “23” vs. “45” numbering on the heels and variations in the shade of blue used on the embroidered Jumpman logo.
Based on reports from Sneaker Files, Sneaker Market RO, and zSneakerHeadz, the 2026 Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” will most closely resemble the original 2000 release. This includes “23” heel branding, Varsity Royal jumpman logos, “Jumpman Jam” branding on the tongues, and a lower cut patent leather mudguard. The retro face box from the 2000s, which Jordan Brand recently reintroduced — will also accompany this release — matching the original 2000 packaging.
The 2026 Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” is slated to release on December 12th via SNKRS and select retailers in full-family sizing. Check out the original 2000 pair below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
