Jordan Brand doesn’t do things quietly when BIN 23 is involved. The ultra-premium sub-line, one that’s always operated more like a collector’s vault than a standard sneaker drop, is back, and it’s pulling in a silhouette that somehow never made the original cut: the Air Jordan 3.
For context, BIN 23 first surfaced in 2010 as Jordan Brand’s boldest move into the luxury sneaker space. The concept was simple but ambitious: take select models from Michael Jordan’s signature line, elevate them with premium materials, keep production numbers extremely limited, and position them more like collectible objects than everyday releases. Inspired by MJ’s appreciation for fine wine and cigars, each pair featured the signature red wax seal stamp, while the limited quantities made them feel designed to be collected like rare vintages rather than worn into the ground.
The original BIN 23 run included the Air Jordan 2, 5, 7, 9, and 13 before the series quietly disappeared in early 2011. For years, the line became one of those deep-cut Jordan eras collectors constantly referenced but never expected to return. Then, in 2026, Jordan Brand revived BIN 23 with the Air Jordan 6 during All-Star Weekend, bringing the red wax seal back into rotation and reopening the door for more silhouettes to finally receive the treatment. Now, the Air Jordan 3 gets its moment.
What’s immediately striking about the 3 is how rich the colors and textures are. Team Red and Burgundy Crush work together across a premium suede upper, shifting in depth depending on the light. Tonal elephant print wraps the heel and toe, gold eyelets and a lace hardware detail thread through. The tongue bears the signature red wax seal stamp, marking the 3’s official induction into the BIN family. The midsole goes cream, which, against all that burgundy, creates a stunning contrast. Flip the shoe over, and the outsole surprises you by being translucent and smoky.
The packaging is a whole thing on its own, a wooden wine crate-inspired box that slides open to reveal the shoes alongside premium accessories, including cedar shoe trees stamped with the Jumpman, and a set of black dust bags.
Jordan Brand is making 2,300 pairs of the Air Jordan 3 “BIN 23” and each one will be individually numbered. Mark your calendars for the SNKRS drop on June 13th. Check out the official images below.
