Jordan Brand is taking the Air Jordan 4 across the Atlantic with a new “London” colorway inspired by the character and culture of the British capital.
The shoe is dressed in a Dark Smoke Grey hairy suede across the upper, with Red Bark accents adding contrast throughout. The muted palette serves as a nod to London’s famous nickname, “The Big Smoke,” a name rooted in the city’s long history of heavy air pollution and thick coal smoke dating back to the Industrial Revolution and earlier.
London’s influence also comes through in the smaller details. The inner tongue features a “SAY LESS” message, borrowing an American expression that has become popular among London’s youth. On the heel, the traditional branding gets a local makeover, with “LDN” appearing underneath the translucent “AIR” on the Nike Air heel tab. “LDN” branding extends to the equipped hangtag and the shoe’s packaging.
London’s streetwear scene is a gritty mix of rebellious youth subcultures, working-class heritage, and high fashion, with an eclectic aesthetic rooted in expression, authenticity, and pride. This Air Jordan 4 channels that same spirit, bringing London’s distinct streetwear identity to one of Jordan’s most iconic silhouettes.
The Air Jordan 4 “London” drops September 12th via SNKRS and select retailers, exclusively in the UK. A matching varsity jacket will also be available. Check out the official images below.
