2025 is not only the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1, it’s also the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5. Making its way back for the festivities is the iconic Air Jordan 5 “Grape.”
As one of the original four colorways of the Jordan 5 to release in 1990, the “Grape” Jordan 5 has been an important part of the sneaker culture since its debut. Over the years, it has been immortalized in pop culture, famously worn by Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and even appearing on Wheaties cereal boxes.
The 2025 “Grape” Jordan 5 retro stays true to the original release, featuring white leather uppers paired with purple, black, and aqua accents, while underfoot sits an icy translucent outsole. While there’ve been a handful of “Grape” AJ5 retros over the years, this 2025 iteration is the first to feature “Nike Air” branding on the heels since the original 1990 release (unless you count the laceless Fresh Prince iteration from 2018).
The 2025 Air Jordan 5 “Grape” is set to drop on April 19th via SNKRS and select retailers. Grab an early look below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
