Original Story (10/07/24): Jordan Brand is bringing back the OG “Aqua” Air Jordan 8 in 2025.
The Air Jordan 8 made its debut in 1993, the same year that Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to its first three-peat. It was released in three OG colorways, the most popular being the “Aqua,” famously worn by MJ only once on court, during the ’93 NBA All-Star Game, where he scored a game-high 30 points.
Following retros in 2007 and 2015, the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” makes its return to the market once more, this time to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan line. Expect the 2025 retro to stay true to the original design, bringing back the original black and grey nubuck construction, the colorful chenille patch on the tongues, and the swirling aqua blue and concord purple design on the midsoles.
The Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” is expected to drop July 19th on SNKRS and at select retailers in full family sizing. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
