The infamous Jordan 9 holds a reputation for releasing the year Michael Jordan decided to take a break from basketball. Although the GOAT never wore the sneakers in a game, the 9s still managed to be a very popular model with fan-favorite colorways such as the Olives, Cool Grey, and Powder Blue. Jordan Brand is now gearing up for the release of a new colorway for the Air Jordan 9, the “Chile Red.”
Not to mistake it for the Air Jordan 9 “Motorboat Jones” from the Kilroy Pack back in 2012, this colorway features a similar bright red upper with black accents. However, the silhouette is made up of a quilted upper and features monochromatic Chile Red stitching along with a patent leather mudguard, glossy red midsole finished with a black outsole. This release comes in OG packaging and is available in both men’s and grade school sizing.
The Air Jordan 9 Chile Red is set to launch on May 7th on SNKRS and select retailers for $190 USD. You can also find pairs on StockX, GOAT, and eBay following the release. Check out in-hand and official images below.
