Quai 54, the annual world streetball tournament, returns to Paris this summer. As they have for the past 15 years, Jordan Brand will be sponsoring the event. To commemorate this year’s event, Jordan will be releasing a collection of footwear and apparel that combines streetball aesthetic, Parisian style, and African iconography.
The color palette for this year’s tournament is red, white, and black, a familiar color palette to Jordan Brand. The star of the collection is the Air Jordan 5, the same model as the first Jordan x Quai 54 release in 2011. It’s design calls back to the OG “Fire Red” colorway from 1990, complete with a white leather base and reflective silver tongue. The Quai 54 logo appears beneath the mesh paneling on the quarter panels, as well as on the heel patch, while an African pattern is used for the laces and sock lining. Similar design elements can be found on the other footwear in the collection, an Air Jordan 11 CMFT Low an Air Jordan 35 Low, though they also incorporate a black-and-white stripe pattern to their designs.
Grab a look at the three of the styles in the Jordan x Quai 54 2021 collection below. An apparel collection and possibly more footwear will be unveiled in the coming weeks, so make sure to stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for additional updates.
