Designer Yoon Ahn is taking her Tokyo-based label AMBUSH down under with a new collection in collaboration with UGG. Inspired by the fashion seen in Shibuya, the five-piece footwear line honors Japanese streetwear while incorporating UGG’s signature materials.
The collection includes a Women’s Heel in two colorways, a Men’s Woven Boot in two colorways, and an additional fur-covered version of the Men’s Boot. The AMBUSH x UGG Women’s Heel steals the show, completely covered in fur from knee to ankle. One version features a red heel peeking out from under white fur, adorned with red strings and silver heart detailing for a seductive lace-up option. Meanwhile, the brown fur iteration dons a black heel with matching black strings and silver heart detailing.
Modeled after UGG’s iconic chunky shape, the AMBUSH x UGG Men’s Woven Boot features the brand’s signature luxe sheepskin, nubuck, and leather in tan and black colorways. The third Men’s Boot stands out with brown fur covering the toe and vamp area. All three pairs share a pop of red-orange on the interior.
“I wanted to draw inspiration from our city of Tokyo,” says AMBUSH’s creative director YOON. “The boots and shoes I often saw when I first moved to Shibuya have always stuck with me, so this is my love letter to the neighborhood.”
Japanese rapper, artist, and songwriter Yuki Chiba stars in the dreamy campaign film Alley of Youth, where he and his gang arrive at Tokyo Port Bowl wearing the UGG AMBUSH boots. His bowling team, the Shibuya Strikers, face off against the Gyaru Squad, a group of girls rocking the UGG AMBUSH heels.
This collection marks AMBUSH and UGG’s second collaboration, following their debut partnership earlier this year that reimagined Mary Jane and Penny Loafer silhouettes with furry makeovers.
The AMBUSH x UGG Collection will be available on September 11th on the AMBUSH website (10pm ET), followed by a wider release on September 12th via the UGG website (12pm ET) and select retailers such as Notre and Feature. Check out all five styles below.
