Vans is teaming up with photographer, skateboarder, and cultural storyteller Atiba Jefferson for a collaboration that celebrates skateboarding and showcases his work directly through his creative lens.
Each pair of the Atiba Jefferson OTW Authentic 44 is adorned with iconic photos shot by Jefferson, with the left shoe depicting legendary skateboarder John Cardiel and the right shoe printed with a photo of bassist Franz Lyons of Turnstile performing at a show. The monochrome pair’s design pays homage to the connection between skateboarding and the world of music through the artistic eye of the Colorado native. Vans printed on every possible component of the shoe, down to the linings and laces. Atiba and OTW by Vans branding appear on the insoles.
The shoe is accompanied by an Atiba Jefferson x Vans OTW jacket, printed with a color photo taken by Jefferson in 2024 at the Vans OTW Experience in Los Angeles. The back of the jacket features skater Rowan Zorilla riding the orange, 160-foot-long and 30-foot-tall skateable installation, which was designed in collaboration with PLAYLAB, INC. and Sterling Ruby, inspired by the steep incline hills made famous by San Francisco skateboarding.
