Bad Bunny and adidas Originals are diving back into the brand’s football archives with the debut of the F50 Ghost Sprint, a new lifestyle silhouette that merges two early-2000s classics into one.
Rather than simply reviving the iconic adidas F50 “Spider” football boot from 2004, the Ghost Sprint combines its speed-driven DNA with the equally era-defining Ghost Sprint running shoe. The result is a sleek low-profile hybrid that continues adidas’ recent push toward football-inspired lifestyle footwear.
The sneaker also draws heavily from Bad Bunny’s Puerto Rican roots. Its name references the island’s wolf spider, a fast-moving predator that inspired both the shoe’s sprint-focused identity and its distinctive “Araña” cage. Wrapping the upper, the cage provides lightweight structure and breathability, while a deconstructed spacer mesh construction is designed to better handle the tropical heat of Puerto Rico.
Two launch colorways accompany the debut. The “Dark Marine” pair updates the original 2004 F50 “Ocean” palette with shades of Clear Blue, Clear Sky, and Light Purple, while the vibrant “Solar Slime” edition leans into bold neon yellow hues that emphasize the silhouette’s speed-focused aesthetic.
Positioned as a sneaker that bridges performance heritage and street culture, the Bad Bunny F50 Ghost Print arrives ahead of the FIFA World Cup final, as football continues to influence fashion well beyond the pitch. Like many of Bad Bunny’s previous adidas collaborations, it’s less about recreating the archive than reinterpreting it through his own lens.
