BAIT and Reebok are back with their second collection inspired by the manga series Astro Boy. Just like the first collection, the drop includes two footwear models, except this time the silhouettes of choice are the Hurrikaze II and Instapump Fury Zone.
The Hurrikaze II in the collection takes Shawn Kemp’s signature shoe (originally named the Kamikaze II) and equips it with a light tan nubuck upper, similar in hue to Astro Boy’s “skin.” The lateral side panel features a black leather overlay, while the medial side overlays are mismatching, coming in green and red and covered with circuitry graphics that represent Astro Boy’s inner workings. Additional mismatching red and green accents are found on the outsoles.
The collection also includes the Instapump Fury Zone, a silhouette that was first introduced earlier this year. The shoe comes dressed primarily in metallic silver with a red cage and a black inflatable bladder overlay. The same circuitry graphics from the Hurrikaze II appear on the Pump bladder, though this time they glow in the dark, as do the sole units. Both pairs feature Japanese Astro Boy branding on the tongues.
The second BAIT x Astro Boy x Reebok collection drops this Saturday, November 20th on Reebok.com, at BAIT stores, and on the BAIT website. Check out both pairs below.
