The adidas Superstar is poised for a big comeback in 2025. Originally introduced in 1970, the classic model made its debut as a low-top basketball shoe with an all-leather upper and the famous rubber shell toe design. As the model turns 55 in 2025, the Three Stripes are bringing new energy to the silhouette with collabs and special releases.
After kicking off the festivities early in 2024 with the launch of the CLOT Dress Superstar by Edison Chen, adidas is now reuniting with BAPE on two new Superstar colorways. First revealed by Brendan Dunne of Complex, these BAPE Superstars feature leather uppers embossed with BAPE’s signature camouflage pattern. They also come with asymmetrical branding on the side panels, with the left side of each shoe featuring the adidas Three Stripes and the right sides featuring the star-shaped BAPE STA logo. APE HEAD logos in gold foil on the lateral heels and co-branded gold lace dubraes round out the design.
The BAPE Superstar comes in a classic white/black colorway, the same colorway as the original Superstar released in 1970. It is also offered in blue, a classic color for adidas since the brand’s inception.
The BAPE Superstar comes off the heels of the BAPE Orketro, the Japanese brand’s most recent adidas collab, released in November 2024 in three colorways.
