Founded in Harajuku in 2000, atmos has grown into the largest sneaker retailer in Japan, with over 30 locations in the country and an additional 12 in neighboring countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
As part of the retailer’s 25th anniversary celebration, atmos has teamed up with BAPE and adidas Originals for a special triple collab on the classic Superstar. The shoe features a black leather upper debossed with BAPE’s iconic camo pattern and gold foil APE HEAD logos on the lateral heels. The left side of each shoe features the adidas Three Stripes, while the right side features BAPE’s STA logo—both crafted from white, snakeskin-like glow-in-the-dark overlays, a nod to the atmos x adidas “G-SNK” series.
To celebrate the release, A BATHING APE and atmos have created a 3D CG animation set in Tokyo, paying homage to the hometown of the two brands. The short film stars a humanoid snake character, representing atmos, who uses the power of the monkey (representing BAPE) to fight a monster of darkness terrorizing the city.
Marking the first-ever collaboration between BAPE and atmos, this Superstar is accompanied by a BAPE x atmos G-SNK t-shirt, incorporating atmos’ signature luminescent snake print into BAPE’s classic COLLEGE TEE design.
Following an early release at atmoscon, the BAPE x atmos x adidas Superstar drops May 3rd exclusively in Japan, available via BAPE STORE locations, BAPE.com, and the atmos website. Check out the special edition pair below.
