Colm Dillane’s KidSuper just unveiled a new collaboration with BAPE at Paris Fashion Week.
KidSuper’s Fall/Winter 2025 show, titled “From a Place I Have Never Been,” featured a first look at the upcoming BAPE by KidSuper “A Super Ape” collection, marking BAPE’s first-ever appearance at Paris Fashion Week.
The BAPE by KidSuper collaboration is a full circle moment for Dillane. As a teenager, he would set up an ironing board outside the BAPE store in NYC and screenprint tees on the spot for customers waiting in line. Some of his early works featured graphics inspired by BAPE’s BABY MILO style, essentially creating bootlegs of the brand.
Fast forward to present day, and KidSuper is now the first brand to work with BAPE as part of its pinnacle collaboration tier, the BAPE COLLECTIVE. This gave Colm the opportunity to dive deeper into the brand archives and the creative freedom to reimagine BAPE’s icons and patterns through his own unique lens.
From the looks previewed on the runway, one of the standouts was the purple puffer jacket with fur hood, inspired by Lil Wayne’s iconic head-to-toe BAPE camo outfit from the 2000s. Another favorite is the formal suit jacket and pants, featuring BABY MILO climbing up one the vines adorning the ensemble.
The BAPE x KidSuper collection is comprised of over 40 pieces across apparel, footwear, and accessories. Various outerwear styles feature a collab camo print, combining BAPE’s ABC CAMO with KidSuper’s Face Camo. KidSuper’s flip of BAPE’s iconic SHARK HOODIE literally flips the shark face on the hood so it’s smiling instead of frowning, fitting as the KidSuper ethos is all about humor and making people smile.
The collection also includes a tee with Colm drawn in BABY MILO form, the same cartoon style that Colm would use on his early BAPE bootlegs. Another tee, paying homage to BAPE’s Japanese heritage, features a graphic of an egg salad sandwich, the kind sold at 7-Eleven stores across the country.
The offering also includes an assortment of BAPE STAs that incorporate KidSuper’s eye and face motifs into the sneaker’s design. Each pair comes in action figure-inspired blister packaging, the same style of packaging used on BAPE’s Marvel and DC footwear collabs. Two of these BAPE STAs come as slip-on clogs, while another features patchwork Japanese Boro fabric construction, making each pair one-of-a-kind.
Rounding out the collection are the accessories, which includes a travel kit complete with an eye mask, toothbrush, socks, earplugs, comb, pencils, and a Colm x BABY MILO notepad to write on.
The BAPE x KidSuper “A Super Ape” collection will release Spring 2025 at BAPE stores and on BAPE.com, with prices ranging from $150 to $600 USD. Check out the Paris Fashion Week show photos and official product images below. Make sure to stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for further updates.
