A BATHING APE is celebrating 25 years of the BAPE STA at ComplexCon this weekend with a special three-silhouette collection built around the theme of Past, Present, Future.
Debuted by NIGO in 2001, the BAPE STA played a major role in shaping Harajuku’s influential streetwear scene, eventually becoming one of BAPE’s defining silhouettes and a canvas for collaborations across fashion, music, and art. For its 25th “Silver” anniversary, the brand is revisiting the model through three silver colorways, each offering a different take on the BAPE STA.
The “Past” version features a classic BAPE STA covered in cracked silver, designed to give the shoe the appearance of 25 years of wear. A faux-aged midsole adds to the vintage treatment.
The “Present” arrives as a BAPE STA OS with a premium full-grain black leather upper, silver eyelets, a silver lace lock, and a molded silver STA logo.
Rounding out the footwear offering is the “Future,” a BAPE STA SHARK dressed in silver full-grain leather and finished with the same anniversary-inspired silver hardware as the Present.
The three footwear styles will be accompanying by commemorative apparel, including BAPE STA 25th Anniversary Shark Hoodies and a BABY MILO graphic tee.
Alongside the new collection, BAPE will display 25 notable BAPE STA pairs from its archive, creating a physical timeline of the silhouette’s history. The archive highlights the range of collaborations and designs that have shaped the BAPE STA since its introduction, including projects with Daft Punk, Kanye West, and KAWS, as well as more recent partnerships with KidSuper, Marvel Studios, and Stray Kids.
The BAPE STA “25th Anniversary” collection will be available exclusively at BAPE’s Booth G41 during ComplexCon 2026. The event takes place October 3–4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, with VIP hours beginning at 10 AM and general admission starting at 11 AM each day.
