A BATHING APE is bringing back the BAPE STA SHARK in two colorways as part of its Fall 2024 offerings.
Originally introduced in 2010, the BAPE STA SHARK takes the iconic BAPE STA sneaker and adds elements from the Japanese brand’s famous SHARK HOODIE that first released in 2004. Its side panels come adorned with the shark teeth motif, while the heels feature “WGM” branding, representing BAPE’s “World Gone Mad” slogan. These graphics are pulled from the SHARK HOODIE’s famous zip-up hood. The BAPE STA SHARK arrives in two colorways, a sleek black and striking white.
Interestingly, the sole units on these BAPE STA SHARKs have been modified with slight differences from previous BAPE STA releases. A ridged section has been added to the heel of the outsole, placed directly underneath the BAPE branding on the sidewalls. The star-shaped grip at the toe and heel has also been swapped out for a pyramid shaped pattern. These modifications are possibly the result of BAPE’s settlement agreement with Nike from earlier this year.
