Brain Dead & adidas Reunite for Nostalgic FW25 Collection

LA-based creative collective and streetwear brand Brain Dead is reuniting with adidas for a collection inspired by nostalgia, the digital underground, and 2000s-era video game and sporting aesthetics.

The apparel offering includes a Japanese Noragi-inspired Climacool track top and matching track pants, a metallic football-inspired jersey and matching shorts, and an all over print goalkeeper jersey, each featuring Brain Dead graphics and crests. Silver elements and shaped panels adorn the pieces, nodding to adidas’ extensive archive. Accessories include a beanie and a sling bag.

Two retro-futuristic silhouettes lead the footwear lineup: the 2003 Climacool 2 and the 1988 Taekwondo Mei. The Brain Dead Climacool 2 arrives in two colorways, one featuring metallic vents, reflective green mesh, and yellow accents, offered alongside a Brain Dead-exclusive colorway equipped with grey mesh uppers.

The Brain Dead Taekwondo pays homage to the silhouette’s debut at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, dressed in classic black leather with white stripes and an off-white outsole. The final shoe in the collection, the Brain Dead Techwondo, reimagines the Taekwondo in metallic silver and adds a microcomputer to the right tongue that measures distance, pace, and calorie consumption. This technology was first introduced on the adidas Micropacer in 1984 and was revolutionary for its time, predating modern smartwatches and fitness trackers. The Techwondo uses the last remaining dead stock Micropacer counters in existence and will be available only in North America.

Lastly, a set of limited-edition figures inspired by video games from the 2000s will be raffled exclusively on CONFIRMED, with entries accepted starting December 17th at 4pm ET. While the collection can be purchased directly, these collectibles can only be won via raffle.

This collection continues the duo’s longstanding partnership and collaborative projects celebrating the world of sport through Brain Dead’s unique lens, such as tennis on their Forest Hills and Stan Smith collections and bowling with the revival of the 1978 adidas Bowling shoe.

The Brain Dead x adidas Originals Y2K collection will be available early on December 16th via wearebraindead.com, followed by a global release on December 18th via adidas CONFIRMED and select retailers. Check out the collection below.
