Original Story (07/25/25): CAV EMPT, the Tokyo-based streetwear brand co-founded by legendary graphic artist SK8THING, has shared a first look at its upcoming Nike Air Max DN8 collaboration.
Teased in the CAV EMPT Fall/Winter 2025 collection lookbook, the upcoming C.E. Air Max DN8 appears in three colorways: black, grey, and teal. Each feature a digital camo print across their uppers and midsoles and a collab logo lockup on the tongue. The design stays true to CAV EMPT’s brand aesthetic, rooted in early internet culture, cyberpunk, and science fiction. A similar all-over camo look was also applied to CAV EMPT’s previous Nike collab, the Air Max 95, released in 2019.
Before forming CAV EMPT in 2011, co-founders SK8THING, Toby Feltwell, and Hishiyama (Hishi) Yutaka worked together under NIGO’s direction at BAPE, where they helped define the visual language of 2000s streetwear. Their deep-rooted experience in blending futuristic design with subcultural references continues to shape C.E.’s collaborations with Nike and beyond.

Update (08/19/25): CAVEMPT has announced the release of its Air Max DN8 collab. A Japan-exclusive release will take place on August 22nd at 9am on CAVEMPT.com, followed by a global release on SNKRS on August 27th. Currently, only the “Silver Lilac” colorway is set to drop on SNKRS in the US.
