Devin Booker’s garage has apparently been holding out on us. Last year’s Book 1 collection ran through his vintage Chevy Blazers and sold out doing it. Now Nike and Chevrolet are circling back to raid the rest of his collection, and this time it’s his Impalas taking the wheel.

The new project is built around four pairs of the Book 2, each one keyed to a specific Impala Booker actually owns and stores in his garage, or as he likes to call it, “The Library”. Model years ’58, ’59, ’62, and ’63 all get their own colorway, right down to tongue details pulled from each car’s hood ornament.

“When an All-Star like Devin draws genuine inspiration from one of our classic Chevys, it speaks volumes. Millions of people connect with that passion for an iconic car,” says Scott Bell, Vice President of Global Chevrolet. “Seeing Devin’s love for his Chevy collection inspire a custom sneaker isn’t just special, it’s a truly one-of-a-kind moment for our brand.”

First up is “Pretty Penny,” named for and colored after Booker’s 1959 Impala convertible, and is the car that apparently started this whole obsession in the first place. The shoe wears a metallic mauve-pink bronze patent finish that catches light almost exactly like the car’s paint job, with a black Nike Swoosh cutting through and a small crossed-flags Chevy emblem stitched onto the heel in gold thread. Flip to the tongue, and there’s “Chevrolet” in script.

Rounding out the drop is a “Heartbeat of America” tee referencing Chevy’s old ad jingle, plus a shoebox styled after vintage Chevy Accessories packaging, complete with kraft-paper construction and the teal-and-orange color scheme that era of Chevy branding was known for.

The rollout leans into the car culture angle just as hard as the shoe does. “Pretty Penny” received an early release in Detroit on August 15, timed to the Woodward Dream Cruise, a single-day gathering that pulls around 40,000 vintage cars down a 16-mile stretch of Woodward Avenue every year.

“Bringing together my Michigan roots and my passion for Chevy makes this project really special,” Booker says.

The Chevrolet x Nike Book 2 “Pretty Penny” drops globally on August 26 via SNKRS and select retailers. The rest of the collection — the ’58, ’62, and ’63 colorways — won’t land until December. Check out the pair below.
