Edison Chen has never been one to just make a shoe—he builds an entire narrative around it. The latest chapter is the CLOT x adidas Originals Mundial Collection, arriving just ahead of a global summer of soccer.
The centerpiece here is the CLOT Mundial sneaker. Edison took one of adidas’ most storied silhouettes from the archive and ran it through his signature lens — a black leather upper, cream raffia Three Stripes with a matching heel, and a black espadrille sole. That espadrille tooling has become a signature move in Chen’s adidas collaborations. Look at the CLOT x adidas Qi Flow from his Lunar New Year collection, for example. Alongside it, the CLOT Samba gets the same treatment but with inverted colors: a Samba Millennium upper paired with a suede toe cap and raffia bottom, reworking a familiar icon into something entirely new.
Beyond footwear, the collection extends to a full range of apparel. Knit jerseys draw from Teamgeist-era tournament aesthetics while feeling completely of-the-moment, and supporting pieces like the black and khaki Heritage Print Shorts and pants, an olive Baja Hoodie, and a khaki Refined Utility Short Sleeve Shirt round out the offering with a cohesive, considered feel.
Then there’s the campaign, which continues Chen’s ongoing anime-inspired universe. Raphinha of FC Barcelona and Luis Díaz of FC Bayern Munich step into Chen’s original anime world, illustrated by Annie Choi. Here, footballers aren’t just athletes—they’re characters in a much bigger story. The short film features the adidas Trionda World Cup match ball, anchoring the collection to the cultural weight of the game’s biggest stage.
Apparel and accessories from the CLOT x adidas Mundial collection are available now via the adidas website and JUICE STORE.
