CNCPTS is setting the tone for the New Balance Gator Run with the early release of the “Shadow Red” colorway, unveiling the 1982 Gator Turf-inspired silhouette through an editorial-driven campaign that reframes the model beyond its sport heritage roots.
Ahead of its wider launch, CNCPTS is debuting the Gator Run in “Shadow Red” first, establishing itself not only as the retailer introducing the shoe but as the creative force defining its narrative. Through an immersive editorial shoot, the Boston-based brand frames the Gator Run as a fashion sneaker, one designed to exist between trail performance and everyday wear.
Shot in a lush jungle, the campaign leans into the croc-inspired model name. The humid, tropical setting intensifies the deep “Shadow Red” colorway, creating a visual story that gives the Gator Run a distinct sense of character and atmosphere, allowing the silhouette to exist as a creature of its environment.
Design details further reinforce the concept. A spiked outsole mimics a gator’s toothy profile while providing functional traction, reassuring the audience of its durability and grip. Texture does most of the talking on the Gator Run. Faux crocodile leather gloss is offset by classic runner proportions, with patent leather panels and a leather tongue adding dimension. The bright white laces and smooth leather accents at the tongue and heel provide contrast without overpowering the design.
The New Balance Gator Run in “Shadow Red” will be available exclusively through CNCPTS on Friday, January 16th at 10am EST. The global release is set for January 21st on the New Balance website and select retailers and will also include a “Black” colorway. Check out both below.
