Official Look at the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 “Far Out”

0

Original Story (01/16/22): Boston-based retailer Concepts is teaming up with Nike on a special edition Air Max 1 in celebration of the models 35th anniversary.

We’ll wait for Deon Point and company to explain the inspiration, but we’re guessing there is some connection to the “flower child” hippie era and the Summer of Love. We see that the shoe features a wider range of patterns, materials, and special details across the upper. The quarter panels and toe boxes feature light wash denim, while paisley bandana print is found in purple on the mudguard and green on the heel panel. Corduroy is also in the mix, red on the sockliner and golden brown on the top eyelets. A furry overlay with a brown cow print appears near the toe, which may be constructed from real bovine fur according to a sticker found on the insole.

Additional features include floral and striped mismatching Swooshes, slash star moon symbols embroidered on the toe box, red velvety tongues, and Nike Air embroidery with extra loose threads on the back of the heels. Concepts branding is found on the tongue tags, guitar pick-shaped hangtag, and insoles. The shoes come in special packaging that incorporates the various patterns found on the shoe into the design.
