Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is set to begin a new chapter as a Nike athlete, though before then, the two-time NBA MVP will close out his run with Converse by introducing a new Lace Up version of his SHAI 001 signature shoe.
While the original SHAI 001 launched with a zippered shroud, the Lace Up version removes the cover to expose its traditional lacing system. The SHAI 001 Lace Up will drop in three colorways for Fall 2026, including a two-tone pink “Berry,” a lime green and grey colorway, and the wildest of the trio, “Cheetah,” which combines cheetah-print tongues with a sky blue liner and a two-tone pale yellow and lime green upper.
“I’m excited for what’s ahead as I begin this new chapter with Nike,” says Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. “Before I turn the page, I still have a few things to finish with Converse. I’m proud of what we’ve built and look forward to seeing those pairs out in the world before embracing what’s next.”
To introduce the final SHAI 001 chapter, Converse enlisted multi-disciplinary artist Jacob Rochester to create hand-drawn illustrations celebrating the new Lace Up silhouette.
The Converse SHAI 001 Lace Up “Berry” and “Lime” drop August 14th on Converse.com and at select retailers, while “Cheetah” follows on September 3rd. Adult sizes retail for $120, while kids’ pairs are priced at $100. Check out the lineup below.
