NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Converse are unveiling the next chapter of the SHAI 001, his signature performance silhouette, with a “Winter Red” colorway.
This latest colorway continues the storytelling drive, taking us to the cold winters of Hamilton, Ontario, and the foliage’s steady sense of resilience during those seasonal months. Drawing inspiration from the winterberry, one of the few plants that keep their color well into the colder months, the color palette reflects Shai’s journey and focused mindset throughout his career.
“Winter Red” breaks away from the traditional monochrome style of previous drops, featuring a University Red upper accented with sharp green hits along the zipper. Shai’s signature logo appears on the tongue and insole, and Converse’s Star Chevron sits on the heel. Like every SHAI 001, “Winter Red” is crafted for performance and expression, on and off the court. A radial traction pattern delivers multidirectional control, forefoot Zoom Air provides responsive energy return, and an over-lasted midsole helps ensure low, connected stability.
Previous colorways of the SHAI 001 include the debut “Butter” colorway and the three “Family Pack” colorways in “Masi Blue,” “Hail Clay,” and “Charm Black.”
