PUMA and Dutch designer Daniëlle Cathari come together for their first-ever collaboration, centered on two of the brand’s most recognizable silhouettes: the Suede and the Speedcat. Cathari approaches both models through texture and subtle storytelling rooted in nature.
Cathari, based in Amsterdam, is known for her refined yet subversive approach to womenswear. Most recently, she expanded her footwear resume through Kith with New Balance, collaborating on the Made in UK 991v2 with muted, nature-leaning palettes. The “Reverse” colorway was an exciting follow-up to the duo’s first 991v2, released in the spring of 2024.
Both the Suede and Speedcat are wrapped in rich, fuzzy suede, giving the familiar shapes a softer, more tactile feel. The collaboration draws inspiration from the small ecosystems right beneath our feet, with color palettes referencing vibrant, almost otherworldly fungi. That theme comes through in the details, including debossed shapes at the heel that resemble spider eyes and also double as Cathari’s logo.
Cathari’s take on the Suede arrives in a deep red hue inspired by cap mushrooms, grounding the silhouette in warmth while amplifying its textural qualities. The Speedcat contrasts that approach with a muted, dusty moss colorway that softens the model’s motorsport roots into something more understated. Both pairs feature Cathari’s logos stamped on the tongue and are finished with classic gum soles that keep the collaboration grounded in PUMA heritage.
Interchangeable laces are included with each style, adding a layer of customization without distracting from the shoes’ tonal palette.
The accompanying campaign mirrors the collection’s mood, highlighting soft textures and natural tones with the Suede and Speedcat shown in relaxed, everyday settings.
