KidSuper Teams Up With DC for Batman Supervillains Collection

Hoodies, collectibles, and home goods for eight nefarious foes.

KidSuper founder Colm Dillane has teamed up with DC and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products on the DC Super-Villains x KidSuper collection, a limited run of clothing, collectibles, and home goods built around eight Batman villains. Dillane first teased the project earlier this month when he wore one of the hoodies to the Los Angeles premiere of Clayface.

The lineup covers Joker, Bane, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Penguin, and Riddler. Dillane drew on DC’s archives, including early character sketches. “It was really special to go through the archives and see the early sketches of some of the most iconic IPs ever created and to think they started off as doodles,” Dillane says. “This feels very similar to the origins of KidSuper and inspiring to see where we can take this.”

Each villain gets a Signature Face Hoodie for $275. The faces are pieced together from raw-edged fabric patches on faded, garment-dyed fleece, with features split across the zipper and pocket. Joker’s grin sits on a lavender hoodie, Clayface’s scowl on brown, Poison Ivy on mint green, and Bane’s mask on navy.

Beyond the hoodies, Mr. Freeze gets a $750 puffer jacket in royal blue made of thermochromic fabric. It has a hood with a built-in face covering and red goggles and a KidSuper Studios patch on the back. The $850 Catwoman trench is a long black coat with a cat-ear hood and purple claw marks on the shoulders. Bane’s $150 mask is a black balaclava with a green mesh emblem and magenta panels.

Every villain also gets a piece for the home or a collector’s shelf. Clayface comes as a $750 pair of bookends, with pink clay faces and glowing eyes. Poison Ivy is a $600 red ceramic planter with leaves wrapped around the base. The Penguin umbrella is $45, black on the outside with a comic panel printed inside and a top hat handle. Joker playing cards cost $15, and the $50 Riddler puzzle features a classic comic panel of the character.

The campaign photography is styled like a comic book, with halftone dots and heavy outlines over each shot. Every piece is set inside a moody environment built around its villain, from a rainy alley to a cluttered desk.

To mark the launch, KidSuper is turning its Brooklyn gallery into The Rogues Gallery, an exhibition of original artwork, installations, and collectible objects. The public can visit from October 20-23 at 158 Roebling Street, from 12-5pm, and the collection will be sold only at the gallery during those days. It then goes online at KidSuper.com on October 23rd at 12pm ET. Check out the full collection below.
