Derrick Rose Opens Rose’s Flower Shop

Weekly online rose bouquet drops from the Chicago Bulls legend.

Back in January of 2025, a few months after announcing his retirement from the NBA, Derrick Rose held a one-day-only Rose’s Flower Shop pop-up in Chicago as a thank you to his hometown fans for supporting him throughout his career. Thousands of fans showed up to receive rose bouquets from D Rose himself, as well as take pictures with the Chicago Bulls legend.

Ahead of his jersey retirement ceremony later this month, Derrick Rose announces the return of Rose’s Flower Shop, though it won’t be a one-and-down this time around. RFS will now operate as an official, family-run flower company with weekly online drops, soon available to fans nationwide.

Rose shares the intention behind Rose’s Flower Shop on the shop’s website:

Roses have always meant more to me than something simply beautiful. Not just because it’s my last name, but because to me, they represent love and appreciation.

On September 26th, 2024, the day I retired from the NBA, I sent roses to family, friends, and people who played a part in my basketball journey. It was my way of saying thank you. That moment planted the seed for something bigger.

I truly believe none of us builds anything alone. Everything we carry forward comes from the people who take the time to teach us, support us, and lead by example. I’ve been fortunate to learn from mentors who value family and community as deeply as I do, including Lenny, whose experience in the floral industry helped shape my understanding of this work and the responsibility that comes with it.

As a Chicago native, it was important to me that this shop reflects where I come from. From the South Side to out West, Rose’s Flower Shop is about bringing people together. Because a simple gesture, like giving flowers, goes a long way in creating community, strengthening bonds, and spreading love.

This shop is a reflection of what I believe in. Flowers bring people together. Legacy is built through the people you love. Craft deserves respect. The most beautiful things are meant to be shared.

Every stem we offer carries that spirit. This is my commitment to honor where I come from, to give back to the community that shaped me, and to help people show up for one another in ways that feel real.

Peace & Love,
— Derrick
