adidas Originals and Houston-based streetwear brand DIOS (Did It Ourselves) are teaming up once again, this time putting their spin on the Megaride 01 with a design rooted in the spirit of Texas.
Following last November’s DIOS x adidas Superstar XLG, the latest collaboration once again brings the Houston label’s DIY ethos together with adidas’ archive. This time, the two brands look toward the modern cowboy, exploring a version of Texas identity shaped as much by downtown streets and Southern car culture as it is by open land and horseback riding.
The Megaride 01 takes cues from Houston’s unmistakable visual language, pairing deep black tones with polished chrome accents and worn leather detailing. A DIOS-branded toecap and zipper closure give the silhouette its most distinctive touches, while embossed leather detailing channels the craftsmanship of traditional cowboy boots.
The result is a sneaker that sits somewhere between the city and the open road. Rather than leaning into a literal Western aesthetic, the collaboration frames the cowboy through a contemporary Houston lens — one defined by movement, personal style, car culture, and the freedom to forge your own path.
That idea also ties directly into DIOS’ “Did It Ourselves” mentality, an ethos built around individuality and creating your own lane within contemporary streetwear. The Megaride 01 serves as another expression of that philosophy, bringing together references from Texas’ Western heritage with the energy of its cities.
To mark the release, adidas and DIOS will bring the collaboration to Houston for a launch event on Saturday, August 15, from 7-10pm at 5011 Navigation Blvd. The activation will give the local community an opportunity to experience the Megaride 01 firsthand in the city that helped inspire its design.
