First brought into the spotlight in 2010 and then in 2020, Dr. Martens and Hello Kitty are gearing up for their third partnership next month, this time bringing along some friends from the Sanrio universe.
The collection presents fresh editions of the classic 1640 boot (also available in kids sizing), 1461 shoe and Jadon platform boot. The basic construction of each shoe remains the same, what with the thick leather uppers and solid rubber soles, but the rest of the designs are splashed with color and characters from Sanrio’s beloved feline’s world. Featuring characters like Badtz-Maru, Keroppi, My Melody and Hello Kitty herself, each shoe takes on familiar graphics and synchronized color schemes.
Each boot in the collection will feature two sets of red and white laces, as well as pink ribbon laces. The 1460 boot appears similar to the Jadon, though with more motif printing. The Jadon boot will see a stacked platform sole and Sanrio graphic stitching on the upper, completed with the same pink bow chain. The 1461 shoe will come adorned with an all-over print and include heart-shaped eyelets and the pink bow keychain.
The Dr. Martens x Hello Kitty and Friends collection will be available in women’s and kids’ sizing on March 4th via the Dr. Martens webstore and select retailers.
