DTLR design director June Sanders revisits New Balance’s coveted 990 series with a new DTLR-exclusive 990v6. Nicknamed the “Cornerstone” colorway, the shoe pays homage to the 990’s foundational role in sneaker culture, especially in DTLR’s home turf, the DMV.
The collaboration fuses classic New Balance hues with vibrant multi-colored accents that celebrate the shared legacy between both brands. Uppers feature a grey mesh base with navy and black suede overlays, while the 990v6’s tooling consists of a tri-density ENCAP foam midsole and rubber outsole for everyday durability. Other key details include highlighter-toned tongues and “N” logos, along with bright pops of purple, blue, and orange throughout. Two lace options are included: black and orange options.
Limited to just 500 pairs, this 990v6 “Cornerstone” is the third New Balance SMU (special makeup) from DTLR this year, following the release of the 1906R “Moon Sign” and kids-exclusive 530 “Silver Azure.”
