Japanese label FPAR (FORTY PERCENT AGAINST RIGHTS) reconnects with Nike SB on a Blazer Low collaboration to close out 2021. The two most recently connected on a Dunk High in 2019, which borrowed design elements from the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 6.
FPAR founder Tetsu Nishiyama, best known for also founding the label WTAPS, chose the name FPAR based on the idea that new artwork must be modified by at least 40% from a previous design as to not infringe on the rights of an existing work. This bootleg approach to creating and a guerrilla mentality against media informs FPAR’s design ethos.
Like their last team-up with Nike SB, FPAR opts for a neutral color palette, dressing the Blazer Low in shades of Cool Grey and Wolf Grey. Its smooth suede base is paired with tumbled leather on the Swoosh, FPAR-branded heel panel, and tongue. A touch of snakeskin on the lateral forefoot and blinged-out lace dubraes add a bit of pop to the shoe. Other details include an inside-out tongue tag on the left shoe, FPAR branding on the insoles, and a dark grey vulcanized rubber midsole.

These are currently loaded as a December 20th release on SNKRS in Europe, though no US release has been revealed as of yet. A second colorway is also expected to release alongside the “Cool Grey” pair. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for any updates.
