Gabe Tardio is quickly gaining attention in the professional pickleball scene. At just 19 years old, the Bolivian native is currently ranked No. 3 in the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour world rankings for men’s doubles, No. 6 in mixed doubles, and No. 12 in men’s singles.

Tardio is also the only active player to wear his own signature shoe in professional pickleball competition. He debuted his signature Stria Sport G1 Court Shoe earlier this summer during the 2025 PPA Select Medical Orange County Cup, where he won gold with his doubles partner Ben Johns.

The G1 is the the first court shoe from by Stria Sport, a Chicago-based performance shoe and apparel brand founded in 2021. It joins the brand’s debut basketball shoe, the 107 Series—worn by athletes in the 2024 Paris Olympics as well as by over 90 professional players globally—and its leisure walking shoe, the Easy Stride.

The G1 was designed around the pillars of durability, stability, and comfort, applying design principles from basketball footwear alongside insights from Tardio and other elite players. It features a built-in ankle collar and heel counter to stabilize high-impact movements during intense play as well as a wide base to enhance balance and control for aggressive cuts and quick pivots. A specialized outer mesh reduces weight and boosts breathability for maximum comfort.

“Partnering with Stria Sport on the first signature shoe of its kind in pickleball has been a really cool experience,” says Tardio. “I’ve spent a lot of time on the court thinking about what players actually need in a shoe, and Stria Sport really listened. This isn’t just my name on it – we built something that feels right for the way the game is played today.”

Tardio’s signature G1 Court Shoe is available for pre-order now on the Stria Sport website in the “Arctic” colorway. Check them out below.
