Canadian outerwear brand Arc’teryx has partnered up with Grailed on the release of a collection of rare refurbished pieces from the Arc’teryx archives.
The collection includes ten vintage one-of-one jackets from past Arc’teryx collections dating back to 2001. Each piece has been hand-restored back to its original form using proprietary raw materials through Arc’teryx’s ReBird program as part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to circularity and an eventual net-zero environmental impact.
Launched in May 2021, the ReBird program is Arc’teryx’s commitment to shift away from a take-make-waste economy by continuously seeking to adopt and evolve a circular way of operating. Initiatives in circularity include education, resale, upcycling, and product care and repair.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Grailed and share our circularity journey through this archival collection,” says Dominique Showers, VP Recommerce at Arc’teryx. “We recognize that we’re responsible for the environmental impact of the gear we put out in the world, and giving older pieces a new lease on life, while also learning about how to make our products better and longer-lasting is an exciting and important challenge for us.”
Starting today, consumers can visit the Arc’teryx NYC store in SoHo at 547 Broadway, the home of the first ReBird Service Center, to preview the ten heritage pieces before they’re made available for purchase.
Each piece will be sold at the exact retail price of their original launch with all proceeds being matched by Grailed to benefit Climbers of Color, a non-profit that aims to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the climbing and mountaineering community. The Grailed x Arc’teryx ReBird collection launches on Thursday, December 16th at 1pm CST on the Grailed website.
