Paris-based designer Hed Mayner has teamed up with Reebok for a reinterpreted Workout Plus OG, transforming the silhouette into an edgy and experimental fashion statement.
The ’80s footwear icon is reworked with a softened, rock-tumbled full leather upper and distressed detailing for an worn-in look. Hand-washed and hand-painted treatments ensure each pair is a truly unique piece. The collaboration draws on Mayner’s creative eye for proportion and structure, as seen through his luxury menswear line.
“I was drawn to the Workout Plus OG because it carries a sense of familiarity and permanence,” says Hed Mayner. “I like working with forms that feel rooted in tradition but still allow room to shift the proportions and the attitude. My approach often blends the sacred and the everyday and applying that to a Reebok icon felt natural. It lets me reinterpret a shoe people already know in a way that stays honest to its history while bringing it into my own language.”
The duo’s link-up has intersected the worlds of high fashion and sport, with Reebok silhouettes debuting on the runway:
