Pharrell’s Humanrace and adidas are pushing the limits of sneaker design with the EVOLUTION Pro, blending the multi-disciplinary artist’s creative lens with the Three Stripes’ cutting-edge performance technology.
Building on the design of the EVO PRO 1, adidas’ pinnacle marathon shoe co-signed by world-class runners, the EVOLUTION Pro was conceived as a design concept to see just how far they could push the limits of technical footwear. It’s meant to provide a glimpse of what the future of shoe design can be. While the EVO PRO 1 is marketed to marathon runners, the EVOLUTION Pro is more for the athlete with an affinity for both the latest technological advancements and the hype sneaker market.
The silhouette comes dressed in a sleek mono-mesh upper and is equipped with a wider Lightstrike Pro midsole than the standard EVO PRO 1. A 5D raised dot pattern across the upper adds a touch-reactive component design for an enhanced sensory experience. The technical engineering and futuristic concept are reflected in its $1,000 price tag, retailing for twice as much as the $500 EVO PRO 1.
