Taiwanese streetwear brand INVINCIBLE has reunited with longtime partner adidas Consortium for a reimagined iteration of a terrace fashion classic, the Handball Spezial.
Staying true to their design philosophy of prioritizing practicality and attention to detail, INVINCIBLE reinterprets the Handball Spezial through a minimalist lens with a black-and white-color palette, while also incorporating unique, subtle modifications that give the shoe a distressed, vintage aesthetic. The eyelets and T-Toe overlays are roughly cut, resulting in flared edges, while the collapsible heel counter allows the shoe to be worn as a slipper for added versatility.
The shoe is offered in two colorways—Black and White—each with its own distinct characteristics. The black colorway, exclusive to INVINCIBLE, features cracked leather three stripes and heel panels, while the White colorway replaces the stripes with perforations and incorporates grey suede heel panels. Reinforced stitching on the co-branded heel panels of both colorways complements the overall design tonality.
Other design details include gold foil INVINCIBLE and Spezial branding, supple leather insoles embossed with the Consortium handshake logo, and painted gum rubber soles that add to the pre-aged aesthetic.
The INVINCIBLE x adidas Consortium Handball Spezial launches via a raffle on the INVINCIBLE website, with entries accepted until April 11th at 12am ET. They will then drop at INVINCIBLE locations in Asia on April 12th, followed by a global release of the white colorway on Saturday, April 19th on CONFIRMED and at select retailers.
